Interesting: http://www.bostonradiowatch.com is reporting that WAMG 890 will lose its ESPN affiliation on Monday–the same day ESPNBoston.com is to launch. No word yet on what station will pick up the affiliation. Supposedly farewell shows on ESPN 890 are being done today and workers were informed yesterday of a format switch (no idea yet to what format) and it’s said the station’s GM confirmed the move in an email. The 890ESPN.com site is now down.

ESPN has made a wonderful choice which they will be very happy with. Tedy embodies what the NFL and all pro sports is in desparate need of, a gentleman. I’m sure he will be a quick study and mix seamlessly into the role of commentator. The fans are the ultimate winners, being able to continue to watch and listen to a true all-star.
