Bruins, Patriots games to move to new ‘WBZ-FM’

Boston (WBZ Newsroom) — Changes on the Boston radio dial.

CBS Radio, owner of WBZ Newsradio 1030, announced Tuesday that Boston Bruins Hockey broadcasts will be moving to an FM sister station.

The Bruins games along with New England Patriots games will now be heard on the new “98.5 The Sports Hub”. That station will also assume the call letters WBZ-FM, pending FCC approval.

A full talent and programming schedule for the station will be announced at a later date.

CBS Radio also announced changes for another station, WBCN-FM. 104.1 FM will become Mix 104.1 airing much of the music heard now on 98.5.

In a statement, CBS said, “WBCN will say goodbye to Boston listeners after 41 years on the air with unique programming and stories celebrating the history and heritage of the station. Fans of WBCN will be pleased to know that the station will still be available online at, as well as at 98.5 HD 2 for those who have an HD Radio receiver.”

The changes are expected to take place on August 13th. Stay tuned.
